Interdependence 2020
at El Salon, Worcester, MA

For the show at El Salon, I wanted to let the theme of interdependence guide my creation because it is a major theme of my meditation during Covid and in my work with behavior analysis.
Behavior analytic perspective on Interdependence created in collaboration with Tom Farnsworth.

Huge shout out to Tah Carter for bringing the vibe that inspired this pic.
I am addicted to watching those ASMR acrylic pour videos and always wanted to try it myself. Pouring medium is perfect for creating some stellar galaxy effects. I layered modeling paste on top of the pouring medium and then used watercolor to outline the hug.
Derek Dawson, DRK, is a Lo-Fi artist and long-time vibe video collaborator. I met Derek through Sheyna Hoitsma, a dear friend, and fellow artist. Sheyna always encourages and supports my artistic expression. And for this work, Derek encouraged me to go big for this show. He told me to do more, push boundaries, bring the energy. He created the background music, "Multipass" in the video.

Fatima's Corner @ El Salon
The team at El Salon helped me find a table for my work. Low and behold it was a student desk. As a lifelong educator, I felt so welcome. On the desk were the following books: Contact by Carl Sagan, The Science of Consequences by Susan M. Schneider, and Beyond Freedom and Dignity by B.F. Skinner. Additionally, I included one journal article from the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis: "The Seven Dimensions of Behavior Analysis." All of these items were used to help disseminate and foster further understanding in behavior analysis.
